Asian Chicken Pizza Recipe!
We love to make homemade pizzas in our house. The whole process is fun for the girls... making the dough, designing their own special recipes, and then waiting anxiously as they cook on the grill or in the oven.
As part of a Hodgson Mill Build A Better Pizza contest, we came up with a new recipe that we had never tried for out pizza. It was simple, quick, healthy... and sooo delicious!
We started with a hand made crust from Hodgson Mill whole wheat pizza dough made from their whole wheat graham flour.
I baked the crust at 350 degrees for 10 minutes before adding the toppings and cooking further... this helps eliminate a soggy crust.
And then the yumminess continued with the following recipe:
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons minced garlic
2 tablespoons minced ginger
1 1/2 cups chopped green onions
1 teaspoon olive oil
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 cups shredded cooked chicken
3 Roma tomatoes
Pizza sauce to taste
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Preparation:
1. In a frying pan over medium-high heat, stir garlic, ginger, green onions, and oil just until onions are limp, about 5 minutes. 2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce with chicken. Rinse and core tomatoes; cut crosswise into 1/8- to 1/4-inch-thick slices. 3. Place pizza crust in a 12-inch pizza pan or on a 14- by 17-inch baking sheet. Spread crust evenly with sauce, then scatter chicken mixture and onion mixture over sauce. Sprinkle pizza with cheese, and arrange tomato slices evenly over the surface. 4. Bake in a 350° oven until cheese is melted and pizza is hot in center, 12 to 15 minutes.
And, shockingly, all 3 of my girls LIKED it. Really!
Try it... tell me what you think!
